New Mexico Oversight Hearing Slated for Nuclear "Downwinders" ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Victim compensation from the nation's first atomic bomb test conducted in New Mexico nearly 75 years ago will be the subject of a field oversight hearing in Albuquerque today.
